3 Reasons Why LinkedIn Is A Killer Content Platform
As of today, all LinkedIn members - that's more than 330 million people worldwide - are LinkedIn publishers. They have the ability to blog directly on the platform and promote their content throughout the LinkedIn network and beyond.
Many are already taking advantage of this amazing content platform, some are hesitant and others don't even know the feature exists.
Here are 3 reasons you should be using LinkedIn for content publishing and marketing:
1. It gets results
I am a LinkedIn Publisher, and have been since April, 2014. My 18 posts on the site (click here to check them out) have garnered more than 31,000 views, 200 comments and 600 likes. But more important to my business, by publishing content on LinkedIn, I am able to connect with my audience and potential customers in a way my blog could not have come close to doing.
With a built in audience of more than 330 million, LinkedIn helps me reach more people, develop new connections and increase my brand equity. Plus, thanks to share tools on the site, I can also post the content on multiple social media sites. It is content marketing at its best.
2. It is quick and easy to use
With one click I am able to pull up the publishing tool. I can then set up the headline, the text, and the images all in one place. It even allows me to embed video, images and links.
Now I know this is nothing new to bloggers and website developers. But the fact it is simple and easy to use is important to someone who may not be as technical and needs ease-of-use in an application.
3. You can share content from other sources on the platform
As a content marketing consultant, one of the "tricks" I use with my clients is sharing content through LinkedIn Publisher. Do you already blog somewhere else? Share it through LinkedIn!
This can be done in a few easy steps. Simply cut and paste your headline, image and body copy into the LinkedIn Publishing page.
BUT, here's the kicker - add a simple sentence like this:
As originally seen on the ABC blog - with a hot link to that page. (Check out this example).
Not only do you have a new post on the LinkedIn platform, but you're also driving traffic to your website!
So, if you're not using LinkedIn Publisher - start today. It's relatively easy to do and can make a significant difference in your content marketing program.
